Sharing Memories

I found this on a friend's blog and left a comment for her, so I have to do one for myself...
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one (or 2 or 3...) memories that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Have a great week, and I look forward to reading about the memories.

Lost Tooth!

Here is our big girl's first lost tooth, her new adult tooth was already coming by the time she told us it was loose.
The tooth fairy brought her two gold dollar coins for her first tooth and when she went to the dentist the next week she
got her second baby tooth pulled because overnight her adult tooth showed up! Her dentist was shocked he couldn't believe how fast it appeared. The tooth fairy broght her just one gold coin for her second tooth. So now she has two adult teeth. A very really sign that our little ones are growing up so fast right before our very eyes. First adult teeth and the next thing you know I will be buying bras! So I think I will go play with my kids while they are still kids, tomorrow is coming whether I am ready for it or not, but today is mine to enjoy so I will!

He is .....BATMAN!!!

So you have a ripped spiderman costume and a four year old who REALLY needs to be a super hero what do you do?
Improvise.
One piece of black construction paper become a pair of batman ears.
A mask from a long past birthday party completes the look
One blue felt cape he got at preschool.
We had a problem with the required yellow belt but a folded length of yellow bias tape did the trick.
The black boots were first attempted in construction paper but proved problematic and were scrapped. We changed them out for black church socks. Perfect!
Last but not least the gloves, we tried light blue rubber gloves but those didn't work so we wnet for those super stretchey thing winter gloves.
His outfit now complete with his faithful side kick emily who kindly provided cape support when it was required. They flew around outside and saved the world and then came in for lunch. Sammy loves posing for his adoring Fan and loved showing his cool superhero poses. My crazy kids!

BASKET WEAVING!

So i went to this awesome fiber and arts retreat this passed weekend. There is learned to weave baskets. It was not as hard and I had thought it might be. Once I got the hangof it I just sped throught it. My teacher was very impressed by my abilities! The first picture is one the basket newly made, the two tone basket, with tomatoes I grew in it, is this same basket dyed with indigo and Kamala wood. The middle basket is the second one I made and used a small red reed to add color to it. It is filled with strawberries I grew! Berries I grew in a basket I wove, such a sublime joy. A truly cool moment! I can't wait to make more baskets, i need to get the name of the basket book she used and i found the reed supplier my teacher uses so don't be surprised if you find me buried in baskets. Too much fun!

Happy Trails Mali!

We are both Sad and happy today. Tomorrow at a VERY early hour our very dear friend and absolutely most favorite babysitter Mali is flying to Florida. She is going to be traveling the east coast and going to school for the next yera or so. To say that I will miss her is such a huge understatment. She has been my life saving babysitter so many times, her bubbly sweet personality has brighted some bad days and my children are totally crazy about her! Her creativity and talent never cease to amaze me. I know that she will do great things with her life and will really look forward to seeing her when she comes hoe for visits. Mali will be spending her last night here with us as Lee is driving her to the airport tomorrow morning. We have been very blessed to have her special spirit in our home and lives.
The photos you see are of the matching funny hair day. A friend Nova put Mali's hair this way and when the kids woke from their naps they just had to have hair just like Mail... so we did and took pictures. We love you and will surely miss you Mali, safe journey.

Peas in a pod...upside down

Where ever you find Emily there you will find Sammy, and vice versa. They love each other so much. Last night as I was doing the before bed check to make sure everyone is present and accounted for, I found both Emily and Sammy peacefully snoozing in one bed. I know that that might not happen for much longer as they are getting so big. Though for now it is very cute and i am glad that they love each other so much. They fight, tattle, boss and argue like any two people who live in the same room. They are my blessing and my challenge and we love them both so very much. We have taken to calling EMily our little "Fruit Bat" for her ravenous love of all fruits and Sammy has become our little "Sugar Glider" because he has a sweet tooth never quits. So here they are in their fruit bat and sugar glider poses.

How do your kids get along?

Because of the unquie way in which our family was completed by having Emily come and live with us and be our daughter I get all kind of questions. I have been asked many times over "How do the kids get along?" From the moment she came to be with us Sammy has been her brother, it took a while for us to be mom and dad, but Sammy was her instant brother. They share a room, they share toys, movies, and everything else. This is not the first time they have shared a bed for nap time. Sometimes if Sam has a hard day or just if he wants to he naps with Emily. I know she loves him and I know he loves her. I hope that the friendship and lovee they feel will carry them through their life. That they will always love, spport and look out for each other. Sammy's life is so much better with Emily in it and Emily's is much better with Sammy. Lee and I love them both very much. With recent adoption frustrations, hassles and expenses; seeing my two children sleeping so sweetly and peacefully I know that anything we have to do will be more than worth it. These are my sweet babies and I love them, now if I could just get them to clean their room.... :)

We had clothes all picked out, alarm clock set, the kids excited to see what this week would hold for them at Church. Then last night Sammy spiked a fever, nose running, sneezing and coughing general crankiness. Lee got called to work caue they had a fire at the refinery, so there went Emily at least getting to go. So I used our family home evening lesson today. The kids had so much fun, they watched the living scriptures video and them we did the coloring then they blindfolded and did the iron rod walk. It was so cute to watch them walk together, Emily lost her grip and Sammy helped her back to it. They are so precious.

WE LOVE DADDY!!!!!

We love daddy, yes siree, we love Daddy as you see...

I went to a slumber party( yes I know I am nearly 33 and I went to a birthday party slumber party, it was a blast and I wish there was one every month!) so that left Lee wo watch the kids overnight and in the next day. They had a blast with a some real daddy quality time. Daddy made their favorite dinner and they even made sundaes. After I got hime and Sammy gave me a good long cuddle then they continues with their daddy time. This is a daddy cuddle sandwhich. They took turns being the pickles or the meat. It is the greatest thing to see my little family so happy. Tink joined the pile a bit later we decided she was the olive.
