girls just wanna have fun!
... and cats too! Here is the birthday girl and her buddy sporting super cool rings! They made them from a kit that was given to Emily by her coolest Aunt Kiahna and cousins. THe gals had a great time, they ate popcorn, had treats, stayed up way too late watching movies and playing. All the required sleepover things. Luigi and Mario were pat of the party fun to, they tolerated getting dolled up in dress up clothes but did not get to make a ring pops. Emily and Charlie BFF's!
Flow seagulls and Faux hawks
Sammy came to me one day asking for a flow seagull.... and making some gesure at his head. I had no idea what he was asking for. I was spining in my head trying to figure what he meant. I went the way of "flock of seagulls" and their distinctive hair styles. COurse that left me with a whole new quandery as how my 6 year old had any idea about obscure 80's band and their trademark hair style!? Finally I figure out what he was wanitng was a faux hawk. Where you smoosh all the hair they have in the middle and make it stand up as straight as you can. Unfortunatly for Sam he has his mothers and father curly hair so he gets more curls than he might like but he still looks cool. How can you resist that FACE!!!
Sammy is telling me the photo of him tongue out and claws at the ready is his hawk face.
tremble in fear... or from supressed laugher like me.
Peas and Carrots
My twins....okay so they aren't twins. They are serpeated by 1 year 7 months and two seperate uteruses. But that never stops people from commenting on my twins. Serioulsy, how cute are they in matching shirt and pants even! The shirts were gifts from my mother that they think are the coolest things. I am truly blessed to have two kids who are crazy about each other. Sometimes more crazy than others, but there is no denying the love that these two have for each other. Siblings are special people, and it is my frevent prayer that these too continue to be the "peas and carrots" that they are today. They are very different, but both very good, and go well together.

the newest loves of my life
I am a sucker for the lost and the lonely. Ask anoyone who know me they will tell you show me a stray anything and I am mushy. We in early february I was in the alley behind our house and heard a noise, i followed it and found two little kittens, these kittnes in a box. They were taken the house and there they have stayed. We love them. They love us, even the chihuahua in residence TInk has fallen for these charmng fellows. So now they are 6 months old and more cat than kittens. THe one on tops is Luigi and the one on the bottom is Mario.... yes like the game. My kids picked the names. We got the red and green collars even, what can I do. I love these funny frisky guys.

Home sick fun

Sammy has had fevers and loads of coughing and chest congestion so he has been home all week trying to get better. He was watching his favorite show " Max and Ruby" about a mischieveious little brother bunny and his big sister. (can't see why my two would identify with it...hmmm *lol*) So in an attempt to make a kid who has been trapped at home with mom all week feel a little better let him have a wish. He decided he wanted to look like Max and I needed to look like Ruby. So out come the halloween grease paint and two cute bunny noses and 12 whiskers later here we are in all our bunny glory. I think we are very cute and he makes one adorable bunny boy. Hope this helps him get better soon. I love you my funny bunny boy.

He's a little bit country, she's a little bit Rock and Roll
My kids love to go grocery shopping with me, they can be a big help. When they are my big helpers i will let them pick a treat. We were close to lunch time and Trader joes has little bag lunches with a PB&J, apples, water, cheese stick and a bag of chocolate toucans. This is Sammy's idea of heaven. He askes for it everytime we go there. This time Emily wanted something different, she loves her sushi and they had a nice selection, she was so excited. They could hardly wait to get home and devour them. My exotic girl who loves everything sprakly to my little man you love his soft natural textures. They are so fun to see grow and change. I am glad I have them in my life and in my heart.

Sharing Memories
I found this on a friend's blog and left a comment for her, so I have to do one for myself...
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one (or 2 or 3...) memories that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
Have a great week, and I look forward to reading about the memories.

Lost Tooth!
Here is our big girl's first lost tooth, her new adult tooth was already coming by the time she told us it was loose.
The tooth fairy brought her two gold dollar coins for her first tooth and when she went to the dentist the next week she
got her second baby tooth pulled because overnight her adult tooth showed up! Her dentist was shocked he couldn't believe how fast it appeared. The tooth fairy broght her just one gold coin for her second tooth. So now she has two adult teeth. A very really sign that our little ones are growing up so fast right before our very eyes. First adult teeth and the next thing you know I will be buying bras! So I think I will go play with my kids while they are still kids, tomorrow is coming whether I am ready for it or not, but today is mine to enjoy so I will!
He is .....BATMAN!!!
So you have a ripped spiderman costume and a four year old who REALLY needs to be a super hero what do you do?
Improvise.
One piece of black construction paper become a pair of batman ears.
A mask from a long past birthday party completes the look
One blue felt cape he got at preschool.
We had a problem with the required yellow belt but a folded length of yellow bias tape did the trick.
The black boots were first attempted in construction paper but proved problematic and were scrapped. We changed them out for black church socks. Perfect!
Last but not least the gloves, we tried light blue rubber gloves but those didn't work so we wnet for those super stretchey thing winter gloves.
His outfit now complete with his faithful side kick emily who kindly provided cape support when it was required. They flew around outside and saved the world and then came in for lunch. Sammy loves posing for his adoring Fan and loved showing his cool superhero poses. My crazy kids!

Arrrgh!!!
I had the curtains down to wash them, and Sammy decided to use the decorative curtain rod end to do his impression of Captain Hook! Such a silly boy! I love my crazy kids!
BASKET WEAVING!
So i went to this awesome fiber and arts retreat this passed weekend. There is learned to weave baskets. It was not as hard and I had thought it might be. Once I got the hangof it I just sped throught it. My teacher was very impressed by my abilities! The first picture is one the basket newly made, the two tone basket, with tomatoes I grew in it, is this same basket dyed with indigo and Kamala wood. The middle basket is the second one I made and used a small red reed to add color to it. It is filled with strawberries I grew! Berries I grew in a basket I wove, such a sublime joy. A truly cool moment! I can't wait to make more baskets, i need to get the name of the basket book she used and i found the reed supplier my teacher uses so don't be surprised if you find me buried in baskets. Too much fun!

Mantis Babies and not so baby!
| Make a Smilebox slideshow |
THe kids were so excited when the mantis hatched! Okay, Sammy and I were thrilled Emily was not so sure. We released them in the garden and I saw one breifly about a month ago and just a few days ago while out watering this little fellow crawled up the wall and is about 3 inches long! since he started out about half an inch he must be eating well! Go garden ninjas! The little miracles of life!
